You would think a 73 win team up 3 games to 1, in the NBA finals would be cool, calm and in control. Not really. LeBron James and the Cavaliers saw to that. He scored 41 and the Warrior’s Steph Curry was ejected for the first time in his NBA career late in the Warriors’ 115-101 Game 6 loss to the Cavaliers. Curry threw a fit, on a foul call, got ejected and his wife, Ayesha, made a fool of herself absolutely tearing apart the NBA in a tweet following the ejection. She straight-up said that the NBA is rigged, doing all it can to get a Game 7. You gotta love Twitter…LOL Game 7 is Sunday night.
When will opposing managers learn you can’t bring in a lefty from the bullpen to face Didi Gregorius. The Yankee shortstop again hit a three-run blast (against a lefty) that snapped a 1-1 tie, giving the Yankees a much needed 4-1 victory over the Twins. CC Sabathia at times struggled, but still just allowed one run on six hits and three walks, striking out seven over 6 innings. He’s been brilliant since the beginning of May, going 4-2 with a sparkling 0.82 ERA in his past 7 starts. The NO RUN DMC righted thier ship as Aroldis Chapman pitched the ninth for his 12th save in 13 attempts after scoreless innings by Delin Betances and Andrew Miller It’s been 1 step forward, two steps back for the Yanks. Maybe tonight they can take another step forward.
The Mets hit 3 homers and Bartolo Colon tossed 7 2/3 innings of two-run ball in a 6-4 victory over Pittsburgh at Citi Field. Curtis Granderson, Neil Walker and Michael Conforto each homered, and the Mets have won two straight entering a series with the Braves. The loveble Bartlo Colon paved the way for a four-run inning in the third. He electrified the crowd by ripping a leadoff double into the gap in right-center, and then advanced to third when Granderson’s singled dropped into shallow left-center. It’s always fun to watch Colon do anything on a ball field, especially running the bases. At 40, Colon continues to defy time and weight.
